Parenting Forum To Focus On Raising Self-Empowered Kids
New York Times bestselling author Julie Lythcott-Haims will be the keynote speaker at the Community Education Series Parenting Forum.
PLEASANTON, CA — Julie Lythcott-Haims is all about raising strong, resourceful and resolute kids, who grow into successful adults. The New York Times bestselling author will be in Pleasanton next month to discuss her parenting strategies at Pleasanton's free 4th Annual Community Education Series Parenting Forum, "Dare to Parent Differently."
The event, hosted by the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Unified School District, aims to serve youth in grades kindergarten to 12. The author will be available for a book signing.
Two breakout sessions will follow Lythcott-Haims's talk on topics such as supporting stressed out kids, communicating expectations, whether to hire a college counselor and "Adulting 101." Lythcott-Haims will host a session for parents who come with teens.

Childcare will be available for potty-trained kids ages 3 and older from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for $12 per child.
The event will be held Feb. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Amador Valley High School (1155 Santa Rita Road). The keynote presentation begins at 9:30 a.m., book signing begins at 11 a.m., and breakout sessions will be held at 11:15 a.m. and 12:05 p.m.
