Photo Gallery: Tri-Valley Muslim Communities Mark End of Ramadan
More than 1,000 gathered at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Friday.
Ramadan is a time when Muslims fast, practice self-restraint and reflect on their spiritual lives. The days celelebrating the end of the holy month, Eid-al-Fitr, was on September 10.
Muslim communities from Pleasanton, San Ramon, Livermore and Fremont gathered at the Alameda County Fairgrounds to pray and celebrate together.
Mona Haq, a board member of the San Ramon Valley Islamic Center, said about 1,500 to attend the services and enjoy the activities at the Fairgrounds.

The event on Friday included prayer service in the morning and food and games for children to enjoy.
"This is a time of celebration," said Mohammed Choudhury, of Pleasanton.
