Pipe Bomb Scare At Stoneridge Mall Determined To Be Unfounded

Police said the Alameda County Sheriff's Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squad was called to investigate.

PLEASANTON, CA — An object reported as a “possible pipe bomb” at the Stoneridge Shopping Center this morning was determined to be “not a bomb and was not a threat to public safety,” police said.

A passerby reported the object to police at about 11:50 a.m. Police said the Alameda County Sheriff's Office Explosive Ordnance was called to investigate.

“The EOD Squad responded and determined the pipe was not a bomb and was not a threat to public safety,” police said.
