PLEASANTON, CA — The Alameda County District Attorney has charged two suspects with two felonies in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in Pleasanton in late January.

The suspects, 24-year-olds Tyrell Brown and Andre Ryan of Antioch, are accused of robbing a Pleasanton store employee at gunpoint of his wallet, cell phone, two laptops, $1200, and a company credit card in the middle of the day on a residential street in Pleasanton.

Pleasanton officer Nickolas Skaggs said in a probable cause declaration that on Jan. 30 at about 12:47 p.m., a Pleasanton business owner reported that two young men wearing ski masks and carrying firearms robbed one of his employees of the aforementioned valuables.

The victim had managed to capture a photograph of the suspect’s vehicle, a black Honda Accord, as it fled the scene. Fixed cameras in the area showed the Accord trailing the victim's pickup truck. A registration showed that the vehicle was registered in Antioch, where the owner said he had just left a bank to withdraw $8000 to pay his employees.

The owner also received a notification from his credit card company that his card was used to pay $316.46 for an unauthorized charge at a CVS in Antioch. The manager of the CVS store told Officer Skaggs that the suspect purchased two greeting cards and a Visa gift card for a total of $316.46.

A little while later, Antioch police officers told Pleasanton that they had located the vehicle in question and detained two suspects later identified as Andre Ryan and Tyrell Brown. Records show that Brown is on active probation in Solano County for carrying a concealed firearm.

The robbery victim positively identified the two suspects. Officer Skaggs conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and found both laptops, two greeting cards, a Visa gift card, and a CVS receipt. In the trunk, Skaggs said he found a plastic replica rifle with a large drum magazine, which matched the description of the firearms used in the robbery.

The two suspects were transported to Santa Rita Jail, where they are currently booked. The two suspects are charged with felony second degree armed robbery.
