Pleasanton Art League’s 10th Annual Members Exhibit

Free Weekly Wednesday Afternoon Art Demonstrations.

From Firehouse Arts Center Harrington Gallery:The Harrington Gallery at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton presents “Hues and Textures,” the Pleasanton Art League’s 10th Annual Members Exhibit, on display from November 9 through December 15. Complimenting the installation, the Firehouse will host a series of fine art demonstrations on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Visitors are invited to explore the exhibit, observe the demonstrations, and chat with the artists in this informal opportunity to get up close to the creative and practical aspects of creating fine art.

Approximately 84 members of PAL have pieces accepted included in the multi-disciplinary exhibit, with quite a large number being first-time exhibitors, notes Harrington Gallery Director Julie Finegan. She also explains that in addition to the usual recognition program for outstanding works, there were special awards this year based on how well the theme was developed.

A wide range of media are represented, including oil painting, prints, pastels, ceramics watercolor, photography, silk painting, and more. Criteria for consideration in the annual exhibit is that submitted works are to have been completed within the last 2 years, and not been shown in the area before.

Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., and also one hour before most performances and during intermissions. A donation of $5 is suggested.
