Pleasanton Driver Involved In Fatal Wrong-Way Crash In Oregon

The Oregon State Police said troopers are investigating to determine whether the Pleasanton driver was intoxicated.

PLEASANTON, CA — A Pleasanton driver veered into oncoming traffic, causing a wrong-way crash that fatally injured an Oregon man, according to Oregon State Police.

Troopers are investigating Stevie Shuey, 29, of Pleasanton for possibly driving while intoxicated, according to an Oregon State Police news release.

Shuey's Volkswagen Rabbit was headed northbound along Highway 101 in Douglas County, Oregon when her car crossed into the southbound lane, striking a Hyundai Genesis driven by Michael Lindsay, 69, of North Bend, troopers said.

Lindsay was airlifted to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Lindsay's passenger, Erica Billingslea, 33, of Coos Bay, was injured and taken to the hospital.
