Pleasanton High School Student Arrested After Making Threats Via Social Media: Police
Breaking: Police were able to identify a suspect, who was found off campus.

PLEASANTON, CA — A student from Foothill High School in Pleasanton was arrested Thursday after they allegedly using social media to threaten another student, police officials said.
According to police, after school staff learned of the threat, they worked with the school resource officers and were able to identify a suspect, who was found off campus.
“At no time did the suspect reference harming anyone other than the specific student,” Pleasanton police officials said in a statement.

Police said the student did not mention the use of a weapon and no weapons were found when the student was contacted.
“There was no evidence to indicate any threat to the campus, staff members, or the general student population,” police said. “The threats appear to be a result of specific interactions between the suspect and victim.”

Police arrested the suspect and they were booked into Juvenile Hall. The suspect’s name and age will not be released to order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, police said.
