Pleasanton Library Construction To Start Monday
Crews will install new roofing, new roofline windows, and more. The library building will close briefly while those windows are installed.

PLEASANTON, CA — A roof replacement for the Pleasanton Public Library is anticipated to begin Monday and last until the fall, the city said.
The library will remain open during the initial phase of construction, but will briefly close while the roofline windows are replaced. The library will continue operating online during this phase.
Work will be performed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting Monday, Aug. 8, safety fencing will be placed around the building to form a perimeter for the active construction site and to form a barrier between the public and any potential falling debris. A tunnel will be set up at the library front door to provide safe access to the public and staff entering the building.

The vacant city-owned lot at the corner of Bernal and Old Bernal avenues will serve as a staging area for all construction equipment and materials so that the library parking lot can remain open throughout the duration of the project.
Repairs include the installation of 35,900 square feet of new concrete roof tiles and 2,000 square feet of membrane roofing to provide an extra layer of protection against water leaks. The project will also include the installation of new energy-efficient roofline windows, replacement of water-damaged wood sheathing, and more.
