Pleasanton Library Expands Resources For Job Seekers, Veterans

New tools available for job search and training; help for vets to navigate VA benefits system.

ThePleasanton Public Library now offers an expanded selection of online job search and training tools and resources for veterans who need to access earned benefits. Subscriptions to the JobNOW and VetNOW platforms from Brainfuse are being paid for with emergency federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds earmarked for California’s libraries and administered through the California State Library.

JobNOW helps library patrons learn new skills, prepare for certification testing, create more impactful resumés, improve interviewing techniques, and search for jobs. In addition to JobNOW, Pleasanton Public Library offers access to several digital resources and print collections to support jobseekers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. VetNOW helps veterans become aware of the benefits they’ve earned and navigate the Veterans Administration system. It also offers employment development tools and job-seeking support.

A library card is needed to access the library’s print and virtual resources. California residents may get a free library e-card in minutes, gain immediate access to digital content, and request materials for sidewalk pick-up.
