Pleasanton Library Sets Reopening Date For Public

Visitor numbers will be limited, with one-hour stays per person during phase-in process. Plus new "Grab & Go" services will begin.

PLEASANTON, CA — The City of Pleasanton Library has set Thursday, Nov. 12 as its date to reopen its doors and launch its "Grab & Go" service.

Pandemic-safety precautions will be in place, and entry will be limited to 20 patrons at a time, with visits limited to one hour.

The new “Grab & Go” option will offer visitors a safe and speedy way to quickly access books and other materials, aloang with using contactless, self-checkout or physically distanced computer stations.

Services still unavailable:

  • Chairs and tables for reading and studying, study and meeting rooms
  • Interactive toys for children
  • Extended research assistance
  • In-person programs
  • Used book sales
  • Donation of materials

Reopening hours will be: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and closed Sundays and Mondays.

And do note: Safety requirements for entering the library:

  • Visits are limited to one hour or less.
  • A health screening is required for entry.
  • Face coverings are mandatory for all patrons, ages 2 and up.
  • Six feet of social distancing must be maintained at all times.
  • All children under 12 must be in direct supervision of an adult.
  • Capacity is limited to 20 visitors at a time.
