Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown Announces Re-Election Campaign
Brown, who has spent two years as mayor and eight years on the City Council, will run for her second term this year.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown announced her candidacy to serve a second term following November’s City Council elections. Brown, who has lived in Pleasanton with her family for over 20 years, has served as mayor since 2020, preceded by eight years on the Pleasanton City Council. During her time on the Council, she served two terms as vice mayor.
“Pleasanton is a beautiful and safe community with expansive parks, upscale amenities, and a historic picture-perfect downtown. I am proud to serve as Mayor to our friendly community, and I vow to continue to use my skills and expertise to better our city, preserve our historic features and keep our community safe.” Brown said in a statement.
Brown has made housing a central part of her campaign. She said in a statement that she will not accept campaign donations from builders or developers. Brown also claimed support for “slow and smart” growth policies that meet state mandates and reduce overcrowding, while also promoting scenic ridgelines, clean air and safe drinking water.
