Rosewood Pavillion Shooting, Robbery Suspect Arrested
Antonio Faraz Rad of San Ramon has been charged with attempted murder in the Thursday night shooting at the Rosewood Pavilion.

A 19-year-old San Ramon man is facing attempted murder charges after police say he robbed and shot at another man Thursday night at the Rosewood Pavillion.
At about 10 p.m. Thursday, the 23-year-old victim, who was unhurt, met with the suspect, Antonio Faraz Rad, at the CVS Pharmacy parking lot on Rosewood Drive.
Police say that Rad was there to buy iPods from the victim.

The victim, who is a Fremont resident, arrived in a Honda sedan and Rad pulled up in the parking lot in a gray SUV. Police say each man was with another person.
When the victim approached the SUV with the iPods, Rad took out a firearm and attempted to rob him, police said.

Rad then fired at the victim while they were facing one another, according to investigators. When the victim tried to flee and run toward his car, police say the suspect fired a second shot.
Both shots missed the victim and he was unhurt.
Employees at the CVS store called the police and reported seeing several men in the parking lot.
Both the victim and the suspect left the scene in their vehicles, but a witness was able to provide the police with the victim's license plate number.
Police were able to identify Rad as the suspect. With the help of San Ramon Police Department, Rad was arrested after police searched his home.
He is being held at Santa Rita Jail on charges of robbery, attempted murder and a felony enhancement for committing felonies while out on bail.
According to police, Rad had previously posted bail for felony vandalism, felony evading and child endangerment.
Authorities are searching for the other people involved, as well as the SUV that was on the scene.
Lt. Jeff Bretzing said shootings in Pleasanton are "very rare."
"I can't tell you when the last time… it's been a couple of years since we've had an assault with a deadly weapon much less an attempted homicide," said Bretzing.
