Pleasanton Porch Pirate Quickly Tracked, Arrested: PPD

The Pleasanton Police Department said it was able to respond to a call in under 10 seconds.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton police were able to respond to a call about a stolen package in less than ten seconds, the department said in a social media post.

Police used the victim’s security footage to track down the suspect. Within hours, officers found the suspect in a nearby parking lot, where he was positively identified and arrested. The package was also returned.

Pleasanton residents and business owners have the option to register their cameras with the Pleasanton Police Department. This will help detectives know exactly what kind of footage is available. It does not give the department the right to access information recorded on private cameras. See here to register.
