Pleasanton’s Measure MM, City Council, Mayor Race: 2016 Election Results
Voters took to the polls Tuesday.
PLEASANTON, CA — In addition to the 17 statewide measures on Tuesday's ballot, Pleasanton voters also considered Measure MM and decided on their city council. A total of six candidates ran for a seat on Pleasanton's city council. Incumbents Karla Brown and Jerry Pentin held their seats. Mayor Jerry Thorne was re-elected, defeating challenger Julie Testa. The controversial Measure MM was defeated.
A swearing in ceremony will be held on Dec. 6., city officials said.
Assemblywoman Catharine Baker, who represents Alamo, Danville, Dublin, Lafayette, Livermore, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek, was re-elected for a second term.

"It is an honor to be re-elected as the Assemblywoman for the 16th District," Baker said in a statement. "I am profoundly grateful for my family, our tireless volunteers and supporters, our dedicated staff, and the voters of AD16 for giving me the opportunity to serve. I will continue working in a bipartisan manner to make sure our community has an independent and dedicated voice in the Legislature. I will work hard every day with every ability I have to earn your support."
