Pleasanton Schools Named California Distinguished Schools
Two Pleasanton schools were recognized by the California Department of Public Education for superior performance and climate.
PLEASANTON, CA — Hart Middle School and Harvest Park Middle School have been named 2026 California Distinguished Schools by the California Department of Education. The recognition honors public schools that demonstrate strong student outcomes and instruction programs that support academic success for all students.
Schools across the state were selected based on performance indicators including academic achievement, student progress, and school climate measures.
“We are incredibly proud of the students, staff, and leadership at Hart Middle School and Harvest Park Middle School,” PUSD Deputy Superintendent Ed Diolazo said in a statement. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our educators, the hard work of our students, and the strong partnership we share with families and our Pleasanton community.”

This is the sixth time Harvest Park has been named a California Distinguished School, and the second time Hart was named. Several Pleasanton schools have been named California Distinguished Schools over the years, including:
- Foothill High School (four times)
- Amador Valley High School (four times)
- Fairlands Elementary School (four times)
- Pleasanton Middle School (one time)
- Mohr Elementary School (one time)
- Lydiksen Elementary Schools (one time)
