Pleasanton's Hometown Holiday Celebration Canceled Due To Weather
Rainy weather forced the cancellation of the Pleasanton holiday parade and tree lighting Saturday.

PLEASANTON, CA — Rainy weather has forced the cancellation of Pleasanton's Hometown Holiday Celebration, the city announced Saturday afternoon, several hours before the event was set to begin.
"We wish we could continue on with the parade and tree lighting as planned, but the heavy rains and high winds aren’t predicted to subside today and we have to put safety first," the city's Library and Recreation Department wrote on Facebook.
Earlier this week, the city set up an information phone line to keep the community updated, and shared a "rain-out protocol sheet." According to the rain-out sheet, the parade would be cancelled if there was steady rain coming down at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
