Pleasanton's Restaurants Named Best In Tri-Valley

See which Pleasanton restaurants the San Francisco Chronicle recently said were among the best in the East Bay.

PLEASANTON, CA — Four Pleasanton restaurants top the list of best places to eat in the Tri-Valley, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.


Curry Leaves Bistro specializes in street cuisine of Penang, The Chronicle reported.

The restaurant's website says their mission statement aims to bring flavors of Malaysia to Pleasanton, offering a "homey, nostalgic, and one-of-kind dining experience." They serve authentic Malaysian food and offer in-house dining, to go and delivery. The bistro also has a catering services.

Nyonya Cafe is also on the list and offers Malaysian food. The Chronicle says not to "be fooled by the low-key appearance of this Malaysian strip mall cafe in Pleasanton — competition for its handmade desserts is fierce."

According to their website, the cafe serves traditional food with a taste of Southeast Asian street food. Guests can dine in or order take out.

Oyo offers South American cuisine. The founder and chef, Maurice Dissels, a native of Guyana, thinks of the restaurant as a place that can encompass the diversity of the South American country, The Chronicle reported.

Dine in or take out for this restaurant, or stop by for one of their events. Guests can also visit Oyo's market.

The Press made the list for their breakfast. The cafe is popular for high school students and families, The Chronicle reported, and their paninis, salads and toasts are the most craved items. The cafe's motto is "we are what we eat."
