Police Detonate Suspicious Object In Pleasanton: PPD

Pleasanton police Sunday received reports of a device with foil and wires that resembled a man-made bomb.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton police and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office detonated a device they thought could contain explosives.

On Sunday at 11:30 a.m., the Pleasanton Police Department received reports of a suspicious device at the intersection of Sunol Boulevard and Valley Avenue that resembled a man-made bomb. Police said the device was covered in foil and had wires sticking out of it.

The police evacuated the area, and contacted the bomb squad and an unmanned aerial vehicle team from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. The bomb squad detonated the device, and found that it did not contain any explosives.
