Police Investigating Cause of Pleasanton Ridge Fire
The blaze could be seen across the Tri-Valley.
PLEASANTON, CA — Firefighters have extinguished a brush fire that broke out along Foothill Road at the base of the Pleasanton Ridge Sunday night. The fire was reported in the area of Foothill Road and Laurel Creek Drive at about 9:30 p.m.
Pleasanton police closed a portion of Foothill Road in both directions while firefighters battled the blaze. Fire officials said the fire, which had the potential to threaten homes and spread into the Ridge, was contained to about 2 acres of grass and oak trees. Cal Fire and Alameda County Fire crews helped with the firefighting efforts.
According to fire officials, no injuries were reported and no structures were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
