UPDATE: Second Suspect Arrested In Hacienda Business Park Armed Robbery

Police are looking for two more suspects in the robbery of a FedEx deliveryman Wednesday morning.

Update: A second FedEx employee was arrested Thursday night in connection with the armed robbery of one of the delivery service's trucks in the Hacienda Business Park Wednesday morning.

Arrested was Jason Niusulu, 23, Hayward. Police said he is friends with the first suspect to be arrested, Dominique Jerome Hamilton, 20, of Union City. Hamilton, also a FedEx employee, was arraigned today and charged with robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon.

At 10:45 a.m., a FedEx driver was robbed at gunpoint as he was making deliveries on the 4300 block of Hacienda Drive. The driver, 32 year-old Francisco Matute, told police that four men wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts confronted him.

One of the robbers had a shotgun and ordered Matute to open the back of the FedEx truck. The men took several boxes before fleeing the scene in a gold Buick sedan.

Police say Hamilton was arrested Thursday at a San Leandro FedEx facility in the car witnesses described seeing at the robbery. Inside the car, police found a sawed off shotgun, which they believe was the weapon used in the robbery.

The stolen boxes were headed for the Apple Store at the Stoneridge Shopping Center, the truck's next stop, leading investigators to conclude that the suspects had inside knowledge of the company's operations, police Lt. Mark Senkle said.

Police caught a break in the case because another FedEx driver,  who was planning to meet up with Matute to transfer a package,  witnessed the robbery and noted the license plate of the getaway car.

With that information, investigators determined it was a rental  car and learned it was being driven by Hamilton, who was not the person renting it, Senkle said.

Hamilton works as a FedEx packager. His duties include loading delivery trucks on Pleasanton routes.

He is being held at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. His bail is set at $120,000.

Police say several computers were taken during the robbery. There were no reported injuries from the incident.

Senkle said police are actively searching for the other person involved.

"We have eight investigators currently working on this," he said.
