Grainbakers offers one-of-a-kind whole-grain breadmaking classes and soft pretzel-making workshops. We are honored to be in a guest residency at Pans on Fire, the beloved Pleasanton cooking school. We are also well known for wholesome staff team builders hosted right at your office. Spent grain and brewer's barley are healthy whole grains recycled from the brewing process. Our 90-minute workshops are hosted at some of the country's best breweries, and they often sell out fast. Classes blend fun, relaxation, and the pride of saying "I made that." Whether you are brand new to breadmaking or a seasoned sourdough pro craving a fresh twist, you are welcome here. We especially love showing homebrewers how to transform that beautiful spent grain and brewer's barley into something extraordinary. Every workshop pairs you with friendly Teaching Assistants who guide you through mixing, shaping, and prepping your dough. You leave with oven-ready dough to bake fresh at home, plus recipes and tips to keep the magic going in your own kitchen. The aromas, the laughter, and the brewery atmosphere all add up to a night you will remember. This is a fun night out that is also an affordable night out. Join us for An Evening with Nicolas Bearde: From Ballads to Blues&nbsp;at Meyhouse Jazz in San Ramon.
A singer, songwriter, and recording artist, Nicolas Bearde is known for his smooth baritone sound, refined musicality, and natural connection with the audience. Since moving to the Bay Area from Nashville in the 1980s, he has become a treasured voice in the local and international jazz scene, bringing together the spirit of jazz, blues, and soul with elegance and ease.
This program showcases Bearde’s distinctive blend of genres, as he continues to evolve and push the boundaries of jazz and blues — making him a stand-out voice in today’s jazz world.
Bearde was a founding member of Bobby McFerrin’s renowned vocal ensemble Voicestra, touring internationally with the group for more than 15 years. He has released six solo albums as a bandleader and currently serves as vocalist and narrator for saxophonist Vincent Herring’s Story of Jazz Orchestra, a New York–based project that traces 100 years of recorded jazz.
For this special evening, Bearde is joined by a stellar quartet for an expressive, soulful performance — from intimate ballads to blues-inflected grooves — led by one of the Bay Area’s most distinguished jazz vocalists.

The CaliCeltic Band will be rocking Fenestra THIS&nbsp;Friday. We will also have Quake Catering on site for amazing food. No entrance fee, but minimum purchase of one bottle per two people. Concert is on our outdoor lawn. Tables and Chairs available. Kid and Dog friendly- as long as on leash. No outside food please (support our local vendors!). Reservations strongly encouraged, but Walk Ins welcome as space allows.

We wanted to share a simple (and fun!) way to support the dogs at Calpaws K9 Rescue.
On May 30th, we’re hosting a Texas Hold’em Poker Night in Livermore — a relaxed evening where you can enjoy good food, great company, and a little friendly competition, all while helping dogs in need.
Event Details: 
📍 940 Larkspur Drive, Livermore 
💵 $100 buy-in
Your seat includes:

• $4,000 in chips to play
This event is open to all skill levels — whether you’ve never played before or know your way around the table, you’ll fit right in.
Most importantly, every dollar raised goes toward the dogs we rescue and care for. From medical needs to daily supplies, your support directly impacts their journey to a safe and loving home.
If you’re able to join us, we’d love to have you there. And if not, sharing the event or inviting a friend means just as much.

Join the St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s Brave the Shave – Summer Kickoff on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Emerald Glen Park in Dublin, CA.
This family-friendly community event brings people together to help conquer childhood cancer by raising money for lifesaving research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the world’s largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants.
Participants can shave their head in solidarity with children battling cancer, donate hair to help create wigs for kids who have lost their hair during treatment, volunteer, fundraise, or simply come out to support the cause.
Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 children diagnosed will not survive. Brave the Shave gives the community an opportunity to make a bold and visible statement of support while helping fund research that gives children better treatments and better outcomes.
The event will feature: • Head-shaving stations • Hair donation opportunities • Family-friendly activities • Community fundraising • Before-and-after photo opportunities • Special appearances and photo opportunities with Vader’s 501st Stormtrooper Legion
