Pleasanton Residents Assaulted In Violent Home Burglaries; Suspects At Large
One suspect struck a man and woman with a handgun, while another pepper-sprayed a teenager during separate burglaries, police said.
PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton police are investigating a string of residential burglaries dating back to since Feb. 27, including two incidents where suspects violently assaulted residents inside their homes. Police believe the incidents are related, and all suspects remain at large as of Friday morning.
On Wednesday at around 8 p.m., a man on Mohr Avenue encountered a suspect in his backyard, police said in a news release. The suspect displayed a handgun, and forced the man back into his home. Inside, the suspect reportedly struck both the man and his wife before jumping over several nearby fences to flee. Police say the suspect never discharged the gun.
Officers searched the area using drones and a police canine, but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a light-skinned Black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing dark clothing and a mask.

On Feb. 27, shortly before 7 p.m., a suspect entered a home on Hansen Drive. The suspect encountered a teenage resident and pepper sprayed them before fleeing, police said.
That same day, another burglary was reported in the same area. Home security footage showed a male suspect wearing a dark hoodie, jeans, and white shoes.
