Press Release from Cheryl Dickinson, Social Service Coordinator at Ridge View Commons:

PLEASANTON, CA — You’ve heard the song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams first sang in 1963. Well, the seniors at Ridgeview Commons located on Case Avenue in Pleasanton experienced the most wonderful time of 2022 on December 17th when over 100 senior
residents came together to celebrate Christmas and the winter holidays.

Honey Baked ham and all the side dishes and desserts were served by Lillie Bullock and the Activities Committee who worked together to plan this event. There was shopping, baking, serving, and clean-up all done by this committee and other senior residents who volunteered.

Celebration Christian Center from Livermore, Richert Lumber, Jim’s Restaurant, Gene’s Fine Foods, and Trader Joes of Pleasanton contributed to an abundant raffle this year. There wereheaters, fans, rice cookers, socks, gloves, gift cards, food, blankets and more give away inwrapped packages as Santa himself delivered gifts personally to each table.

The good times continued to roll when residents were given musical shakers, tambourines, and jingle bells to accompany Heartstrings band that played the Christmas sing-along. Voices bellowed and residents got up and danced to "Jingle Bells" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" along with Heartstrings bands engaging rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas! This year the dining room was filled with happy faces and joy throughout.

Residents are saying that this was a much needed party since Sheltering-In-Place confined everyone to their apartments for so long. This celebration certainly brough residents together and made it possible to have the Most Wonderful Time of the Year in 2022!

Everyone at Ridgeview Commons would like to extend a big “Thank you” to all of the contributions made to make this celebration possible. Ridge View Commons wishes everyone hope, joy, and peace for 2023.
