Coffee Ali's in Pleasanton closed on July 10. The coffee shop, located at 3550 Bernal Avenue, opened in June of 2011, according to the Coffee Ali Facebook page.
Owner Ali Frey told Patch, via email:
"It was a great run! I know I did not fail at all. I opened and took a risk not many people do that. I love how it came together and was a home for all of its customers. Yet the numbers do not lie. With Gods grace I would love to do it again in the future. Ill keep posting on Coffee Ali and giving everyone the love and kindness they deserve."
On Wednesday, Frey posted on the Coffee Ali Facebook page:
"Once was, is no longer. I have throughly enjoyed this chapter of life. My customers have changed my life forever. Each one of you has brought smiles and tears to my eyes. Thank your for letting me spoil your kids like they were my own. For creating a space where EVERYONE is welcome. For giving back to this town I Love so much. I'm always just an email away. Love you!"
Frey was known for hosting local music and art groups, collecting funds and donations for local charities throughout the year and for posting inspirational status updates and photographs on the Coffee Ali Facebook page.
Frey says she will continue to post and keep in touch with her followers via the Facebook page.
