Sprouts & Shutters: Fat Cactus Closed, Justice and Brothers, Oak Tree Wealth Management

Here's the latest roundup of retail, restaurant and other business news and happenings in the Tri-Valley area.

The Fat Cactus in San Ramon closed down and will be reopening in the same location as the Maui Burger Company. The Mexican restaurant had been open since August of 2011.

Oaktree Wealth Management moved into San Ramon from Alamo and opened on Jan. 2, according to the owner, Diane Woodward.

In the Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton, the girls' clothing store, Justice, is remodeling. The sign posted on the outside of the barriers says the store will be reinventing itself as Justice and Brothers and will also sell clothes for boys. According to the manager, Susan Condon, the store is open during the remodel.

Pho fans will be happy to hear that Pho Tastic appears to be replacing the old Carl's Junior on Hopyard in Pleasanton. No date or time for the opening is known.

Cupid's Tooth candy store, located at 99 W Neal Street, closed in October, reopened under new ownership on Dec. 15, according to owner Deanne Long. Long says buying the candy store was not a planned purchase.

"We saw the opportunity and we took it," Long said. "We are in the same location." Follow Cupid's Tooth on Facebook.

In Livermore, a Salad Makers will open at the shopping center on Las Positas Road anchored by Target. Also on Las Positas Road, a Wheel Works is being built near the Kohl's department store. We will provide updates on opening dates when we receive them.

Opening Update: Schubros Brewery’s new taproom in San Ramon opened on Jan. 19.
