Stanford, ValleyCare Health System Sign Affiliation Agreement

Stanford Health Care and ValleyCare Health System today jointly announced that they have signed an affiliation agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, which was approved by each organization’s board of directors this week, ValleyCare will become a subsidiary of Stanford Health Care. Stanford Health Care is a nationally recognized academic health system and a part of Stanford Medicine, which includes the Stanford University School of Medicine and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. ValleyCare is a leading community hospital system located in the East Bay’s Tri-Valley region of Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin.

“The affiliation with Stanford Health Care strategically positions ValleyCare to address the current challenges in health care and it vastly improves our ability to care for Tri-Valley residents into the future,” said John Sensiba, chairman of ValleyCare’s board of directors.

The agreement calls for ValleyCare to retain its medical staff and employees and must still be approved by ValleyCare’s corporate members before it undergoes regulatory review.
