Pleasanton Building Collapses During Massive Commercial Fire
Firefighters will be using heavy equipment to search through to debris to check for anyone who may have been inside.
PLEASANTON, CA —Firefighters in Pleasanton will be using heavy equipment today to search through to the smoldering debris of a commercial building that caught fire and collapsed early Friday. Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department officials said they will be looking for any potential victims who may have been inside the structure when the fire broke out as many transients are known to frequent the area nearby.
The massive two-alarm blaze was reported just before 3:30 a.m. in a metal building located at 3300 Busch Road, according to fire officials. The fire took about 90 minutes to extinguish and blanketed the entire Tri-Valley area with smoke, which lingered during the morning commute.
No injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
