Student Exchange in Pleasanton Sister City

Students, spend part of your summer vacation in a fun and cultural filled experience in Pleasanton's Sister City.

The Pleasanton-Tulancingo Sister City Association is accepting applications for their annual Student Exchange Program. Students interested in participating in the cultural exchange must have the equivalent of 2 years of high school Spanish by the end of the school year. Students will host a student in their homes from June 18 to July 9th and they will be hosted by a family in Tulancingo, Mexico from July 9th to July 30th. The only cost involved is the airfare.

The Pleasanton/Tulancingo Sister City Association is a Pleasanton City Chartered organization and it is a non-profit. Our mission statement is to promote goodwill and friendship between the communities of Pleasanton and Tulancingo, Mexico. The exchange program has been successfully operating for over 30 years. Students come back enriched by their experiences in many ways including improved ability to speak and understand Spanish, eyes opened to another culture in a safe and supportive family environment and a growth in confidence and maturity.

Parents & students are invited to attend an informational session on March 16th from 7 to 8 pm at the Chamber of Commerce office, 777 Peters Avenue. Additional information is also available on the Pleasanton Unified School District Peach Jar website as well as: www.ptsca.org Student Exchange Director Jorge Victoria can be contacted at 925-989-6882, or Sylvia Victoria at 925- 462-6723.
