Teens! Need Volunteer Hours?

Earn Community-Service Credits by Helping the Friends!

The Friends of the Pleasanton Library will hold their Fall Book and Media Sale at the Pleasanton Public Library from September 16 - 19. This popular biannual event offers thousands of donated items at affordable prices, including adult and children’s books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, games, puzzles, and more.

Students interested in volunteering can help set up for the sale, work during the book-sale hours, or assist with cleanup. Volunteers will earn community-service credits, a graduation requirement. Contact James Woodwell for details: jwoodwel@yahoo.com

Sale Schedule:
Wednesday, September 16
• 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. — Early Access by Members of the Friends of the Library
• 1–7 p.m. — Open to the Public
Thursday and Friday, September 17 and 18
• 10 a.m.–4 p.m. — Open to All
Saturday, September 19
• 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. — Final Shopping Hours
• 1–3 p.m. — Fill-a-Bag Sale ($10 per bag, bag provided)

Additional Volunteer Hours:
Saturday, September 12
• 9 a.m. – Noon — Load and Unload Books (to/from a Truck) and Set Up Tables, Bookshelves
• Noon – 3:00 p.m. — Prepare Book-Sale Tables; Organize Books, Media, and Other Items
Saturday, September 19
• 3-5 p.m. — Box Unsold Books; Load and Unload (to/from a Truck); Break Down Tables
