Pleasanton Boy Scout Troop Says Thank You for Supporting Christmas Tree Recycling Project
Troop 941 collected more than 1000 trees.

Thank You!!
Pleasanton Boy Scout Troop 941 would like to thank the community of Pleasanton for another successful Christmas Tree recycling service project and fundraiser this year. Even after a wet and windy start to the day, an enthusiastic group of 32 scouts and many parent volunteers collected more than 1000 trees on Sat. Jan 7 weighing in at over 15 tons!!
The trees are taken to the Pleasanton Garbage Service transfer station where it is mulched for reuse by the community. Funds raised by the project are used by the members of the troop to pay for camping equipment and scouting activities such as our annual summer camp at Wente Scout Reservation and for weekend outings.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. There are three aims of scouting; character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. The first aim is growth in moral strength and character. We define this as what the boy is himself: his personal qualities, his values, his outlook. A second aim is participating citizenship. Used broadly, citizenship means the boy’s relationship to others. He comes to learn of his obligations to other people, to the society he lives in, to the government that presides over that society. A third aim of Boy Scouting is development of physical, mental, and emotional fitness. Fitness includes the body (well-tuned and healthy), the mind (able to think and solve problems), and the emotions (self-control, courage, and self-respect).
Troop 941 meets weekly at 7pm on Monday nights at Pleasanton Evangelical Free Church located at 6900 North Valley Trails Drive. If you'd like to learn more about our program, drop by any of our meetings or contact Scoutmaster@Troop941.org.
