Top 4 Spices to Keep you Warm

Top 4 Spices to Keep You Warm

1. Cayenne powder can help with colds, congestion, and keep you warm in the upcoming cold months. Just add to your soups and sauces. Did you know you could also sprinkle some between your toes and in your socks but that's a little messy. It is known as a central circulatory stimulant and used in treatments around the world.

2. Cinnamon has an anti-clotting effect on blood platelets and known to help improve circulation. This is tasty when added to coffee, oatmeal and cereal. Try sprinkling some on a banana or apple for healthy holiday snacks.

3. Garlic also reduces blood clotting which encourages better blood flow. Used since Egyptian times for medicinal and culinary purposes, it is considered a thermogenic remedy, which increases body temperature.

4. Ginger  is wonderful in tea. Simply put about 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger slices in hot water for a few minutes. I love to add ginger to just about anything. Salmon, salads, and here is a new idea for you to try - just chop up ginger and add to your morning omeletes for a yummy morning idea to stay warm during the day from the inside out.
