Tri-Valley Coronavirus Testing Site Sets New Eligibility Criteria
As California looks to ration tests, the Tri-Valley coronavirus testing site just upped the ante for asymptomatic residents wanting a test.
PLEASANTON, CA — Asymptomatic Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore residents looking to get tested for the coronavirus at the Alameda County Fairgrounds must now meet certain criteria.
While testing was previously open to all asymptomatic residents over the age of 10 years, testing is now open to symptomatic residents and asymptomatic residents who are at least 10 years old and:
- Live in higher-risk facilities such as skilled nursing facilities, residential care facilities for elderly people, correctional facilities and homeless shelters
- Are health care workers who may have been exposed to the coronavirus, or frequently interact with the public or possible COVID-19 patients
- Work in homeless shelters, elderly residential care facilities or other congregate living facilities
- Provide in-home care to an elderly or disabled person
- Work in police, fire or other emergency service fields
- Are a patient needing pre-operative or pre-hospital admission screening, or being discharged from hospitals to receive a lower level of care
- Can't maintain six feet of distancing through their work in retail, manufacturing, food services/grocery and convenience stores, agricultural/food manufacturing, food processing, and public transportation
The criteria went into effect Monday. The full list of asymptomatic criteria and symptomatic criteria can be found here at the website of Stanford Health Care-ValleyCare, which operates the site in conjunction with Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore and the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
