DUBLIN, CA — A major Tri-Valley store for guns, ammunition, and shooting accessories is closing.

After more than a decade as the regional destination for firearms, shooter training, and fishing gear, Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff has announced plans to close its Dublin store and indoor gun range in the new year.

The owners announced the closing in December, during the peak holiday shopping season.

"It's true! We're closing. It's been our pleasure to serve you. But it's time to retire! Be happy with us," the owners said in a Dec. 13 Facebook post. "We sure hope to see you before we're through!"

The announcement comes after the company’s sister store in Vacaville shut its doors in April 2025.

The owners marketed Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff as the "largest firearms dealer in Northern California." They specialized in firearms and related accessories, hunting gear, and fishing equipment. The location also included a built-in public gun range —one of the few in the Bay Area—offering classes, instruction, and practice guns for $12.

While there are gun dealers in the Tri-Valley area — including Livermore, the closing leaves few places left to buy outdoor supplies for hunting and fishing in the Tri-Valley and none that appear to be family-owned (A Sportsman's Warehouse chain store is in Brentwood).

The owners did not announce a closing date for the store at 6705 Amador Plaza Road.

Customers, and even local competitors, responded to the announcement with disappointment.

"So sad to hear. Outdoor gear retail has been brutal over the last 2 years. We can attest to that. Hoping to spin out of this cycle of suck over the next 2 years. All the best to you," came a message from Sweeney’s Sports in Napa on Facebook.

A woman reacted on Facebook by writing, "I’m sad to hear you’re closing both locations. I always enjoyed both ranges."
