Tri-Valley Turkey Burn Invites Community To Run And Reflect

Pleasanton North Rotary's 8th annual run, walk, and race is scheduled for Nov. 24 at Ken Mercer Park.

PLEASANTON, CA — Elections are (for the most part) over, the holiday season is here, and there’s a lot to be thankful for. Including the opportunity to burn off a few calories before Thanksgiving feasts.

At the Pleasanton North Rotary’s Tri-Valley Turkey Burn on Thanksgiving morning, residents will be invited to reflect on what they’re thankful for by decorating “I am thankful for…” bibs, which have become emblematic of the 5K/10K race that has taken place at Ken Mercer Park since 2015.

The 8th annual run, walk, or stroll is scheduled again for the morning of Nov. 24. Over 2,000 walkers and runners are expected to take part in the event, which raises money for Tri-Valley Youth Programs, a Pleasanton North Rotary program that sponsors scholarships, leadership training and youth exchange programs.

Thanksgiving dinner items like instant mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie mix, turkey gravy, cranberries, and more are particularly appreciated.

Registration costs $10 for adults, $5 for children 10-17, and free for children under 10. Dogs are also welcome.
