Tri-Valley Writers April 16 Meeting

Join us for a poetry workshop with Livermore Poet Laureate, Kevin Gunn

Join us Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton, 5115 Hopyard Rd. Pleasanton, as Kevin Gunn, guest speaker, presents a Poetry Workshop for the California Writers Club Tri-Valley Branch.

Kevin Gunn is the current Poet Laureate of Livermore. He curates the Ravenswood Poetry Series. He works with elementary school students and gives workshops in local schools. He also started a Teen Poet of the Month contest program. Kevin is a retired teacher who formed a long-standing poetry club at Livermore High School in 1991. He has won a number of awards in various local contests, including first place in the annual Ina Coolbrith contest. He has been published in Song of the San Joaquin, California Quarterly, Chiron Review, and many local publications. Kevin’s chapbook “Hey Yard Duty, Johnny Said the F Word” will be coming out from Finishing Line Press in early 2016.

The CWC Tri-Valley Branch invites writers of all genres and experience levels to learn about their craft at its monthly meetings. The meeting will be Saturday, April 16, 2016, 2:00- 4:00 p.m. (registration at 1:30). The cost for CWC Members is $12, non-members, $17. Anyone interested in the program or the organization may attend with no obligation to join. Reservations requested by email to reservations@trivalleywriters.org no later than Wednesday, April 13, 2016.
