Tri-Valley Writers March 19 Meeting
Kevin Smokler, guest speaker for the California Writers Club Tri-Valley Branch, presents "Criticism: Meet Confidence!"

Join us Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton, 5115 Hopyard Rd., Pleasanton, as Kevin Smokler, the guest speaker for the California Writers Club Tri-Valley Branch, presents “Criticism: Meet Confidence!”
The writer’s life comes with triumph and disappointment. You can always count on the disappointment. What writers do with, and learn from, that disappointment is often the difference between success and near misses. How do you turn bad news and rejection into wisdom and the will to fight another day?
Kevin Smokler is the author of Practical Classics: 50 Reasons to Reread 50 Books You Haven’t Touched Since High School (2013) and a forthcoming book about 80s movies (2016). His writing has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, Buzzfeed and on NPR. He’s lectured at universities, conferences and corporations throughout North America on leading your best creative life. Kevin's advice is highly sought after at the San Francisco Writers Conference each year. Find him on twitter: @weegee.
