Valley Veterans Foundation awards $10,000 to Women in the Military STEM Scholarship at Las Positas College
Congratulations to Women in the Military STEM Scholarship recipient Destiny Goddu. Destiny served in the United States Marine Corps
Destiny Goddu was an Aviation Electrician in the United States Marine Corps. She is currently enrolled in the Engineering Technology Program at Las Positas College. She is working an intern at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, is a past president of the LPC Student Veterans Organization, and a daring Veteran who recently rushed into a burning building to save a pug. In addition to her $10,000 scholarship she will be benefitting from the Valley Veterans Foundation Career Mentoring and Financial Literacy programs.
Valley Veterans Foundation provides financial support and resources for military personnel and veterans pursuing post-secondary education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The Foundation offers annual scholarships for Las Positas College students to fulfill this mission.
For the 2017-2018 school year, Valley Veterans Foundation has offered two scholarship opportunities. Challenge Grant Scholarships and a “Women in the Military Scholarship designed to assist a woman veteran in a STEM based major. Benefits also include Financial Literacy and Career Mentor Programs.
