Workshop For Potential Candidates Who Want To Run For Office

​The City of Pleasanton will be holding a workshop for anyone interested in running for local office in the upcoming general election.

From the City of Pleasanton: The City of Pleasanton will be holding a workshop for anyone interested in running for local office in the upcoming general election this November. The workshop will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the library, located at 400 Old Bernal Ave.

“This workshop is for anyone who is either interested in running for local office or who is involved in some way in any campaign activity,” said City Clerk Karen Diaz, adding “and it will cover general information about running for office, from important deadlines, qualifications and eligibility, the nomination process and filing fees, to name a few.”

On November 6, 2018, the City of Pleasanton will hold a General Municipal Election for the purpose of electing a mayor and two councilmembers. Mayor Jerry Thorne, the incumbent, has signaled his commitment to run for re-election as has incumbent City Councilmember Kathy Narum. Councilmember Arne Olson will not be seeking re-election.
