📰 News we're reading
• Treasury Extends Funding Deadline for Broadband Projects After NRECA Advocacy (electric.coop) — Portola residents could see stronger broadband options after the local Plumas Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative, based in Portola, secured $67 million for four middle‑mile projects and gained extra time to use federal funds. A new Treasury decision, pushed by NRECA, lets co-ops extend spending deadlines, helping ensure difficult Sierra Nevada builds actually get completed.

• Quincy Trojan softball finishes season undefeated 10-0 (plumassun.org) — Quincy High’s softball team just wrapped up an undefeated 10-0 league season, including two dominant wins over their county rivals, the Portola Tigers. With no seniors and only 10 players, the Trojans leaned on standout performances from underclassmen and now await their seeding in the upcoming CIF Northern Section Division V playoffs.

- Hello everyone, I’m currently searching for a one-of-a-kind custom camper shell that was originally built for a custom flatbed truck and sold somewhere in the area around 20 years ago.
If anyone has any information on its whereabouts or knows the current owner, I’d be very interested in purchasing it back. (Nextdoor Portola McLears Rd)
