• County to provide Portola with law enforcement services (plumassun.org) — Portola will continue receiving law enforcement services from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office under a new three-year contract running through June 30, 2028. The deal, developed by Sheriff Chad Hermann and City Manager Ryan Bonk, raises the city’s annual cost to $150,000 with small future increases, while making Hermann the ex-officio police chief and reducing yearly administrative headaches for both sides.
