The winning business, which is owned by Gena Barney, has been open since 2000.

Barney said it's by doing their "best" that makes the company stand out.

"For diversification, we have items custom-made for over 20 local high schools and do our best to meet the needs of local school projects—although sometimes it's impossible," she said. "But we do our best."

And it helps that the business exists in Poway too, Barney said.

"I'm glad I chose Poway," she said. "I think it's centrally located, our location is fairly easy access off of the highway, and Poway is a beautiful city with so much to offer!"
