Don't Just Hope—Get the Job Done

Instead of thinking you know a candidate, spend 10-15 minutes studying each option.

I have noticed while running for office I have seen, read and heard a lot of people hoping. Whether it's hoping they will be in a better position after the election or hoping the candidate they vote for will do what the voter thinks the candidate will do. I propose instead of Hope, we as the voters Do. The most successful men and women have been doers, not hopeers.  Doing means studying the options and asking tough questions. Not falling for rhetoric or just relying on the candidate to vote their party line. I know in some way you will agree that it is not just the party but independent thought that we need including to get us out of the vicious repetition of financial and public policy crises we've experienced.  The question most asked is "How can we believe what we hear?" My answer... Simply look at both candidates... as in who is funding them and what new ideas they bring on their own. That takes but 10-15 minutes for 10-15 years+ of impact that your vote can make on your own life. Whether its a job, a pay raise or your general safety-- we can all agree that government can help foster opportunity. It all starts here. I challenge everyone to look at their options-- who makes you think the most? who challenges the status quo? who doesn't just complain but actually proposes solutions? Who is willing to show up and do the hard work? Takes but 15 minutes and your choice, your vote and your voice -- in concert with many others not just creates pressure on the political process but also each vote is worth thousands of dollars-- money spent by campaigns. You might be surprised who also agrees with you or who disagrees with you. Your vote is more important than you realize. Exercise it. Do.
