The City of Poway’s Department of Safety Services will offer Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training every Saturday from Jan. 14-March 24.
There will also be the final drill/graduation on March 24.
Upon completion of the training, Poway residents may apply to be a volunteer with the City of Poway CERT program.

Classes will be taught by local firefighters and Palomar College and will include training in things like:
- first aid
- fire suppression
- search and rescue
- terrorism
- emergency preparedness
- disaster psychology
Participation in the class is free due to a grant from San Diego Gas & Electric covering the normal $20 charge for supplies.

Classes are taught at Fire Station #3, 14322 Pomerado Rd., and the Fire Training Tower, 12335 Crosthwaite Circle. Class size is limited.
