Missing Man's Car Found at Blue Sky in Poway; Search Continues

Update 12:44 p.m. Thursday: Searchers found a body, but have not determined if it is Carter. Story.

Update May 6, 2013: The body was identified as Richard Carter. The death has been ruled a suicide, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

The car of a missing 55-year-old man who was last seen in Poway has been found at Blue Sky Preserve, but officials are still looking for him.

Richard Blair Carter was last seen on Monday in Poway, and reported as a missing person at risk on Wednesday by his wife who lives in Poway, according to a San Diego County Sheriff's Department news release and a spokeswoman. His vehicle was found in the parking of the Blue Sky Preserve on Espola Road, where it has been parked for two days.

Carter is described as 5-foot-10-inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about where he could be is asked to call the Sheriff at 858-565-5200.
