Passenger in Scripps Ranch Porsche Crash Dies

The 43-year-old woman was hospitalized after a suspected DUI collision March 27 on Pomerado Road.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Authorities on Monday publicly identified a 43-year-old woman who was fatally injured when a car driven by a suspected drunken or drugged driver slammed into the classic Porsche in which she was riding in Scripps Ranch.

Amanda Walzer suffered what turned out to be fatal head injuries in the crash on Pomerado Road near Spring Canyon Road in the early evening hours of March 27. She died in a hospital Tuesday night, according to the county medical examiner's office.

The Porsche's 49-year-old driver also suffered life-threatening injuries when the classic car was struck head-on by a Toyota Corolla, according to San Diego police. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

Authorities have yet to release the name of the 31-year-old suspect, who police said sustained only minor injuries in the crash, or say what charges she may face.
