• Man wanted in connection with attempted slaying of ex-girlfriend in Poway (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Sheriff's investigators are searching for a man suspected of critically injuring his ex-girlfriend during an assault at a Poway home on August 11, and an arrest warrant is active. Deputies say he may be in San Diego County, Los Angeles County, or Mexico, and Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for tips. Residents are urged to contact detectives or Crime Stoppers with any information. 
• Del Sur Elementary parent speaks on temporary move to Stone Ranch Elementary amid mold concerns (10news.com) — Families in Poway Unified are preparing for Del Sur Elementary students to temporarily attend Stone Ranch Elementary next week while mold concerns at Del Sur are investigated. Parents welcome keeping classes together but still worry about traffic, schedules, and the building's structural issues. District officials say detailed logistics for drop-off, lunch, and class times will be sent to families before Monday.
