• Poway prepares to lower speed limits on 10 street segments (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Poway drivers could soon see speed limits lowered on 10 key street segments, including significant reductions along Scripps Poway Parkway, Twin Peaks Road, and near Lake Poway. The City Council has given preliminary approval to the new Engineering and Traffic Survey, which also supports radar enforcement and responds to parent safety concerns near Twin Peaks Middle School ahead of final adoption on Oct. 6.
   

• Poway's ground attack too much for Mount Miguel in road win (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Poway High's football team powered to a 42-12 road win over Mount Miguel behind a dominant rushing attack and strong play from new feature backs. With interim coach Ryan Hernandez praising the team's toughness, the Titans now look ahead to hosting El Camino on Oct. 2 in their Avocado East League opener, giving local fans a big home matchup to circle.
