Poway Business Acquired by Electronic Technologies Group

Poway business Ramona Research, Inc. has been acquired by Electronic Technologies Group, it was announced Monday.

Founded in 1978 by William Cockerell, Ramona Research designs and manufactures RF and microwave amplifiers, transmitters and receivers primarily used to support military communications on unmanned aerial systems. Ramona's customers include the United States Department of Defense and major military prime contractors.

"Ramona Research continues our practice of adding top-quality, niche businesses that solve customer problems with unique designs and technology," said ETG CEO Victor Mendelson. "Ramona's key position on growing UAS programs is a testament to their innovation and quality."

ETG—which is owned by HEICO Corporation based in Miami—acquired Ramona Research for an undisclosed cash payment.
