1 Dead, 3 Injured in Fiery Crash in Ramona

BREAKING: The collision occurred about 4:30 p.m. Monday on Vista Ramona Road, just east of Old Julian Highway, according to CHP.

RAMONA, CA — A fiery collision near Mount Gower Open Space Preserve killed one person Monday afternoon and injured three others, at least one of them a child.

The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the 22700 block of Vista Ramona Road, just east of Old Julian Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the two involved vehicles, a gold sedan, caught fire following the wreck, the CHP reported.

The fatally injured person, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene of the accident. Medics took the other patients to hospitals for treatment of injuries of undetermined severity, according to Cal Fire.

The collision forced a closure of a stretch of the roadway into the early evening.
