1 Dead in Crash on San Vicente Road: UPDATE

The 10 a.m. collision involved a gold Toyota Camry and a silver Ford F-150, according to CHP.

RAMONA, CA: A 79-year-old motorist was killed Thursday when her car was struck broadside by a pickup truck on a rural East County road.

The woman drove her Toyota Camry directly into the path of the eastbound Ford F-150 while trying to make a left turn from northbound Green Haven Lane to San Vicente Road in Ramona about 10 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The resulting collision sent the Camry crashing into a parked van, killing the woman at the scene, CHP public-affairs Officer Kevin Pearlstein said. Her name was withheld pending family notification.
