(Catherine Werth)

RAMONA, CA — Patch reader Catherine Werth captured this photo Oct. 7 of a Bewick's wren in Ramona.

"Fall brings out my parade of wrens," she explained.

"I will see three or four different species. So far, I have a Bewick's wren, a house wren, and a canyon wren. They are insect eaters, agile and really fast. They are so far easier to spot at dusk."
